Family Promise Giving Day is Thursday, April 20. We are grateful to Vernon Evangelical Church who is raising funds to provide a portion of a challenge gift for Giving Day. They anticipate their portion could exceed $10,000. We expect to have additional sponsors who will increase our challenge goal.
Funds from Family Promise Giving Day will support our Apartment and Community Shelter programs. The theme is A Bed to Sleep In. When asked what was her best day at Family Promise of Waukesha County, Ann responded that it was her first day because she was able to see "my kids sleeping in a bed." After two months in her car, doing everything in her power to keep her family's experience of homelessness a secret, sleeping in a bed with a pillow, under the covers, being read a bedtime story and falling asleep with a roof over their head had to feel like a luxury.
