MEET SHAYLA CAREY

Shayla Carey, our newest Family Advocate joined our staff on February 19, 2024. Born and raised in Racine Wisconsin, she moved to West Allis two years ago. Shayla obtained her Associate degree from Gateway Technical College in Racine Wisconsin. Shayla is a graduate of George Williams College, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. She is a current student at Aurora University, studying for her Master's Degree in Social Work. Shayla has a background in healthcare and previously worked as a CNA for 25 years. She gained experience with case management through internships in the Racine and Milwaukee areas.

When not working Shayla enjoys traveling and a favorite destination of hers is Tennessee. She enjoys attending Greater Mount Eagle Baptist Church in Racine and patronizing a few favorite places in the community. Shayla has volunteered in the Racine area with various organizations and has a passion for providing support to those experiencing homelessness.  Recently engaged, Shayla is planning her wedding this summer and looking forward to the warmer weather in Wisconsin. Shayla has three daughters with two living in North Dakota and one son. Shayla and William will have a blended family with 8 daughters and one son.
