STEP 1
PREPARE TO SERVE AT THE
WINTER OVERFLOW SHELTER
Online Training

The online training platform offers modules for volunteers to learn about Family Promise, homelessness and best practice to care for those who have had a traumatic experience.
THIS TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR THOSE WHO ARE DRIVING FOR THE EOS PROGRAM.
Criminal Background Check

All volunteers must have completed a criminal background check within the past 18 months. This is a requirement to best protect vulnerable children in our program.
Driving Record Check
CLICK THE IMAGE TO START A DRIVER BACKGROUND CHECK
Those who volunteer to drive must have a driving check completed to ensure a clean driving record.
Volunteer Drivers are also asked to attend a volunteer orientation
STEP 2
SELECT YOUR SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
Gather a group of 2-4 people and make and serve a meal for up to 3 families or 10-15 people.
Transport guests to Hope Center or Family Promise in the morning or evening. Three shifts available .
Provide support and care to families at the Day Center during the winter EOS.
STEP 3
CHECK THE SHELTER CENSUS
The Shelter Census will be updated each day. This will help you determine the amount of food you will need to provide and how many people you will transport in the van.

VOLUNTEER CALENDAR
